Farmers Market

Tonight was the first weekly Farmers Market in Henderson. Since this is the first year, we (the local vendors and myself) had no idea what type of community support we would have. We were very pleased. Some of the items for sale included:

Jellies made by Stephanie Friesen and Jacque Ediger

Herbs, tea, jellies, syrups, bread, bread mix and much more made by Cathy Wismer.

Homemade pies and other baked good by Marcee van den Berg

Mary Ellen Pankratz made every one's German favorites

Soybean Mulch by Ratzlaff Farms

There were more vendors at this Farmers Market and the Henderson Fire Department served hamburgers and hot dogs, but I have to save some pictures for next week.

Our next Farmers Market is on Tuesday, July 7, from 5-7 p.m. in the Henderson Downtown Park.

My First Post

Hi my name is Kelsey and I'm a blogaholic.

Okay maybe I'm not that addicted to blogs, but I do like to read blogs regularly and I have been thinking about starting a blog for a long time. I like to scrapbook, but haven't been able to scrapbook much since I got married, so I hope this is a way for me to remember the early years of marriage and maybe I will be able to scrapbook them someday referring to this blog. (don't hold your breath.. this is only a thought) Since I don't have any children (except for two dogs) and I have a two jobs my blog will probably focus on events and activities that I'm involved in (the list is long), different exciting (and not so exciting) things that happen on the Bergen Farm and anything interesting that happens along the way. One goal I have for this blog is to update it at least once a week and preferably more. I would also like to incorporate more photos than words. Not because I'm an awesome photographer, but because pictures are more interesting. Plus my mom told me that too many words are boring and I know she maybe the only person reading my blog for a while at least.
